So, I just read that Robert Anton Wilson died yesterday (January 11th 2007), the most recent of an eccentric generation of middle-aged pot-heads slowly slipping away.... In the 1970s RAW used to write about how we would all live forever thanks to science, but I guess the technological revolution that's producing iPhones isn't yet moving fast enough to cure old age. I haven't read any of his books in a long while, but between the ages of 17 and 23 (or thereabouts) I obsessively collected and read everything he'd written; I once wrote him a 20-page letter (although I never posted it).The books of his I kept when I moved to New Zealand last year, and which I'd recommend most highly, are Quantum Psychology, Cosmic Trigger Vol 1 (non-fiction), The Illuminatus! Trilogy and Masks of the Illuminati (fiction). All are in print and will remain so, no doubt.
